IN HARMONIE JOURNEY: CONTEXT

What is the influence of our context?
Do our circumstances make us mad and frustrated? Do they make us glad and excited? Sad, or scared?

In Romans 8 we learn that in Christ, there is no condemnation. We are allowed to experience these emotions; We are allowed to feel mad, glad or sad.

Over the next month we will embark on Movement 1 of the in Harmonie journey, which focuses on context. Consider keeping a journal as we progress, so that we can revisit at the end.

STEP 1: INTRODUCTION:

IN HARMONIE CONTEXT

STEP 2: TAKE TIME

TO REFLECT

Take a moment to evaluate yourself within your context:

What is making you mad, glad or sad:

1. in your relationship with God

2. in your relationship towards yourself?

3.  in your relationship towards others?

Have an in Harmonie Moment by posing these questions to a friend, and listening to them with an open mind and heart.

STEP 3: TEXT & THEORY

At in Harmonie we believe that our spiritual outlook helps to form the way we experience and react to our context, and so the way we perceive the world. How would being in Christ influence our context?

STEP 4: THINK ABOUT YOUR CONTEXT

1. What is your context as an employer or employee?

2. How do you integrate spirituality and business?

3. What is the relation between spirituality and the work you are doing?

Contemplate these answers through a journal entry or if you want, post them in the comments below.

STEP 5: LISTEN TO A CONVERSATION

“It shouldn’ stay at prayer. It must go over and become the change. Quite often we pray, and say, okay Lord, now You must do it, but most often you must become the answer to your prayer. You need to go and do something now.”

Hanneli Rupert-Koegelenberg was in conversation with in Harmonie CEO Johan Beukes, talking about topics of rest, restoration, prayer and action.

Have a listen.

STEP 6: EXPERIENCE AN IN HARMONIE MOMENT

“I think as a people, what is needed to move from a place of disharmony to harmony, is honour. And by honour I mean to see another person, and see the image of God in them. The moment we begin to honour somebody else, we begin to give weight to what they have to say, we begin to give weight to their experiences, and we can learn from them.” – Lesego Lebese

STEP 7:  SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE
